It’s said by some that UIUC actually stands for University of Illinois – Under Construction. But I promise you, the Green Street Corridor construction project is making progress and will look fabulous when it’s finally finished.

First in the nation! Oh, and by the way, the Champaign Urbana Mass Transit District was awarded a huge grant to bring hydrogen fuel cells to vehicles. Get that hydro! The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced Friday that CUMTD was awarded a $1.45 million Low-No Emissions Grant that will allow us to purchase two 60-foot, articulated, hydrogen fuel cell buses which will further our commitment to cutting edge technology and use of renewable energy sources. CUMTD will be the first in the U.S. to commercially deploy buses of this size and kind.
